Grants to West Virginia nonprofit arts organizations, government agencies, and county school boards to provide the public with arts opportunities. Funding is intended to support programs and projects in areas related to performing arts, presenting artists, visual arts, folk and traditional arts, and media arts.
Examples of Eligible Projects: 
Presenting a concert seriesPresenting a traveling exhibition in a local spacePublic art projectsHosting a juried exhibition of West Virginia artistsDocumenting a unique West Virginia tradition on filmCreating new works in dance or theater to share with West Virginia audiencesEngaging artists in producing existing works of art in theater, dance or musicPresenting traditional art, music, dance, songs and stories of West Virginia in a performance or exhibition that contribute to the public understanding of West Virginia folk and traditional art.Applicants may request up to 50% for artist fees and travel costs for national, regional, and in-state groups or individuals, including literary, visual, media and folk and traditional artists. All travel costs not included in artist contracts require documentation of quotes. Eligible project-related accessibility costs include sign interpreter fees; captioning; and the rental of assistive listening devices, temporary ramps, and Braille materials.For funding details and restrictions, see pages 3-4 of the CAPS Guidelines and Application.
