Cooperative agreement to a USA or territories government agency, nonprofit organization, tribe, IHE, hospital, or health center to evaluate sites working with patients with HIV. Applicants are advised that required registrations take up to a month to finalize. Funding is intended to evaluate demonstration sites and cross-site components.
This initiative will fund three components: a capacity-building provider (HRSA-22-027), demonstration sites (HRSA-22-028), and an evaluation provider (HRSA-22-029). All three components of the initiative will work together using the HRSA HIV/AIDS Bureau (HAB) implementation science framework to conduct the following activities simultaneously:Implement emerging strategies that comprehensively screen and manage comorbidities, geriatric conditions, behavioral health, and psychosocial needs of people 50 years and older with HIV;
Assess the uptake and integration of emerging strategies;Understand implementation processes including assessing specific implementation strategies;Understand and document broader contextual factors affecting implementation;Evaluate the impact of the emerging strategies; andDocument and disseminate the emerging strategies.This NOFO, HRSA-22-029 Emerging Strategies to Improve Health Outcomes for People Aging with HIV: Evaluation Provider, solicits a recipient who will develop and carry out a multi-site evaluation that includes a customized site-specific evaluation for each of the 10 demonstration sites (HRSA-22-028) that will identify, refine, and implement emerging strategies to comprehensively screen and manage comorbidities, geriatric conditions, behavioral health, and psychosocial needs of people 50 years and older with HIV, within the existing resources and infrastructure of organizations funded through the RWHAP. In addition to the site-specific components, the evaluation will include cross-site components that are consistent across all of the demonstration sites. The evaluation provider’s activities and products will align with the HAB implementation science framework. Throughout this initiative, the evaluation provider will work closely with the demonstration sites (HRSA-22-028) and capacity-building provider (HRSA-22- 027). The capacity-building provider will lead and implement the dissemination plan, which will include the evaluation findings produced by the evaluation provider. The scope of work can be found on page 7 of the NOFO.
